Dear Fur Ball Fans,

As you know Gimme Shelter, Inc. has hosted “Fur Ball Fundraisers” here in Smithfield for the past two years. The Fur Balls in 2014 & 2015 were not only successful but also a lot of fun as we are sure that those of you who attended can attest. Gimme Shelter, Inc. is a small but powerful non-profit, all volunteer, 501(c)(3) organization that turns your wonderful donations into lifesaving funding for the animals of Isle of Wight County through our Resale Shop at 426 Main Street. This resale shop is our main focus for raising money for the animals and as stated we are a small group.

Thus we regret to let you know we are not going to be holding any more “Fur Balls” as we find that it takes our efforts away from our main focus (the resale shop). As you can imagine, staging an event such as the Fur Ball takes countless hours of preparation and even though they were successful, it takes a toll on our small army of volunteers each year.
